The BFC Bitcoin ETF Dashboard is a single-page view of the U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF market — combining a live BTC price chart and on-chain network vitals with per-issuer flow tables, cumulative and rolling flow charts, market-share composition, and a working estimate of how much Bitcoin is held by U.S. spot ETFs. It is built and maintained by Bitcoin For Corporations (BFC).

A U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF is an exchange-traded fund that holds actual Bitcoin (as opposed to Bitcoin futures) and issues shares that trade on a U.S. stock exchange. Eleven were approved by the SEC on January 10, 2024, and began trading on January 11, 2024. Grayscale's GBTC was converted from an existing trust on the same date. Additional spot funds (Morgan Stanley's MSBT, Grayscale's Bitcoin Mini Trust BTC) launched later in 2024.

Bitcoin price and 24-hour market data are pulled from Binance.us and CoinGecko every 15 seconds. Bitcoin network vitals (block height, hash rate, difficulty, mempool, fees, halving countdown) come from mempool.space every 30 seconds. ETF flow numbers are pulled from SoSoValue's OpenAPI (which aggregates each fund's daily creation/redemption data) and formatted to align with Farside Investors' widely-cited daily table. Corporate treasury holdings are sourced from the most recent 8-K filings of the companies concerned, via SEC EDGAR.

The most recent ~30 days of daily flows are pulled live from SoSoValue's OpenAPI and refresh at least every 5 minutes on the server. SoSoValue publishes each trading day's row within roughly an hour of the 4pm ET U.S. market close, so today's row typically becomes visible between 5–6pm ET. Older history is served from a hand-authored seed dataset back to April 2026 (the API tier we're on caps historical access at 30 days; longer history requires a plan upgrade). If SoSoValue is temporarily unavailable, the dashboard falls back to the seed entirely so the layout never breaks. The Data Freshness strip at the top of the page shows which source is serving.

For each issuer, we divide the cumulative net flow (in USD) by the current BTC price. This is directionally correct but not exact — real holdings depend on the price at time of each purchase and any in-kind creation or redemption activity. Sponsor NAV releases are the definitive source for a given fund.

The Market Share by Issuer chart is a 100% stacked area of each fund's share of gross positive cumulative flow. Percentages of gross inflow cannot represent a negative issuer without breaking the 100% stack — so outflow funds like GBTC are called out separately in the Issuer Pie above (and the Ramp Rate chart, which shows negative annualized rates as red bars). If you want a strict per-fund cumulative view including outflows, use the Cumulative Net Flow by Issuer line chart.

HHI is the sum of squared market shares, scaled from 0 to 10,000. It is the U.S. Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission's standard measure of market concentration. Above 2,500 is considered concentrated, between 1,500 and 2,500 is moderate, and below 1,500 is diverse. We compute it against gross positive cumulative flow across all issuers, so it reflects how spread out inflow-capture is.

The Bitcoin price sub-header polls every 15 seconds. On-chain vitals (block height, hash rate, mempool, fees) refresh every 30 seconds. ETF flow data is cached for 5 minutes server-side; the page fetches once per session. The BTC price history chart's historical range respects longer cache TTLs (up to 12 hours for the 'ALL' timeframe) to stay within Binance's public rate limits.
